Sample itinerary

A suggested starting point, not a confirmed departure. Routes, stays and activities are subject to your dates and availability; wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.

  1. Day 1 · Dar es Salaam

Arrive and rest before travelling inland.

  2. Day 2 · Nyerere

Transfer to Nyerere by a flight or road journey agreed in advance; settle into camp.

  3. Day 3 · Nyerere game drives

Explore savanna and woodland habitats with breaks during the hottest hours.

  4. Day 4 · River country

Spend another day in the park; ask about a boat safari, subject to water levels, permissions and local operation.

  5. Day 5 · Transfer to Ruaha

Reserve a travel day for the connection; flight routing and schedules must be checked for your dates.

  6. Day 6 · Ruaha

Explore river valleys and rocky terrain on game drives.

  7. Day 7 · Ruaha

Return to promising wildlife areas without changing camp.

  8. Day 8 · Onward journey

Fly onward according to the confirmed schedule, with connection time built in.

Where to stay

Small camps and lodges offer different access points to each park. Seasonal openings and flight connections affect the final selection.

When to travel

June–October is generally a useful dry-season window. Some remote camps close in wetter months; confirm access and activities before booking.

What to pack

Soft luggage is useful for small aircraft; confirm each airline’s allowance. Pack neutral clothing, insect repellent and a warm early-morning layer.

Your quote, clearly defined

Request an itemised quote covering accommodation, meal plans, park and conservation fees, guiding, vehicle use and transfers. Domestic flights and special activities should be listed separately where applicable.

Do not assume international flights, visas, travel insurance, gratuities, drinks or personal purchases are included. Your final written proposal defines the inclusions, exclusions and booking terms.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do the whole route by road?

Distances are substantial. A road-based southern trip needs more time and may work better around Mikumi and Ruaha.

Are boat and walking safaris included?

Not automatically. Availability, minimum ages, park permissions and charges must be confirmed in your quote.
